Aiglon Ethos

Aiglon was founded on a distinctive ethos: the balanced development of mind, body and spirit. This philosophy underpins everything we do at Aiglon, both inside and outside the classroom.

Founded in 1949, Aiglon College is a private, co-educational boarding school that welcomes students aged 7 to 18 to a stunning alpine campus that embodies the balanced development of mind, body, and spirit. Located at 1,200m in the safe and inspiring village of Chesières, Villars-sur-Ollon, in the Swiss Alps, the school is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) and is an IB World School authorized to offer the IB Diploma Programme.

ACADEMICS

Languages: English

Core Diplomas: Students are prepared for and complete the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) in Years 10 and 11, followed by the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme (IBDP) in the final two years (Years 12–13).

Curriculum Structure: The school offers a bespoke curriculum, with students following an IGCSE programme or a Pre-IB Programme (for non-IGCSE students) before undertaking the full, academically challenging IBDP.

Foreign Languages Offered: A wide variety of modern foreign languages are offered, including French, Spanish, German, Italian, Arabic, Russian, Japanese, and Mandarin. French: Given the school's location, French is a compulsory subject in the junior school and is a key modern language option throughout the senior school.

SUMMERS CAMPS

Time: Runs for about six weeks, typically from late June to early August.
Ages: Students from 8 to 16 years old (divided into Explorer and Eagle programmes).
Morning Courses: Academic and enrichment courses in English or French language immersion, Maths, Science, Performing Arts, Technology, and Leadership.
Adventure & Activities: Experience the school's "Life Lived on the Mountain" ethos through thrilling Alpine expeditions, overnight camping, and signature programmes such as:
- Exclusive football training with the Manchester City Football School.
- Adventure (in partnership with the Bear Grylls Survival Academy).
- Ride (mountain biking course).
